I agree with the “too long” and “too short” descriptions.

I enjoyed the short one as it seemed to be a “watch me build this” progress (from stage 1 to stage 2 etc.) which is what I was expecting.

Both of the videos worked fine. And I really didn’t have a problem with the length of the first one. I would have rather had some narrative and canned the background music but that is my personal preference.

I think you need a few more clamps (but who doesn’t) :). What is the story behind the arch- that one is pretty big. I like your trammel as well. After seeing the arch I understand why you need something like that.

They were both interesting videos. I may even have to go back for “seconds” on the longer one.

Thanks for the post.

That fade that is used between shots is quite annoying as it forces my eyes to try to refocus before I can control the input mentally.
If they offer a different fade or you can transcend without one it may make and improvement.

Second, the dwell time on each photo could be a bit longer as it seems to take a few seconds to orientate the visual and by that time it’s changing to the next shot.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your comments. The “arch” is actually just the head trim on a really big window/door assembly. The shot with all the clamps is a 18 foot long 16 in. wide glue up, resawn redwood laminated to a plywood backer for stability. That piece was used for a removable valance (for access to the electric roll up screen) on the same window/door assembly. The other wide arched piece is the upper portion of the jamb for that window. Rich folks and their whims. The magic in the whole deal is calculating the radius of the whole mess, then adding in the reveals for trim and making sure ya don’t screw up 60 + board feet of 12/4 clearheart redwood. I did recheck my math more than once ;-)

Have your say...
