Hey LJ’s looking to see if any or all can help me with getting this unifence repaired so that I can put on a new scale and have the cursor function properly. I got it free off of Craig’s list and jumped before realizing the scope of repair needed. The cast aluminum frame for the cursor is cracked off and gone, there is a bit of the plastic cursor still screwed to it and I’m wondering if that could just be replaced without the frame??? I have no great ideas and hope to draw on the wisdom & experience here, thanks for taking a crack at a solution to help me!

The frame doesn’t look functional at all besides protecting the pointer from being broken. I suspect that attaching a new pointer would cause no problems and restore functionality.

That said, adding a new frame is something that would be doable for someone with access to a milling machine (or just patience and files).

I’d recommend getting yourself a Wixey WR700 digital readout. It’ll solve your problem and your fence will be more accurate than ever.

It doesn’t look like you need anything except for a new cursor. Item 18 on the link below. Just screw it on and go. If you wanted to protect it on the one side you could always drill and tap it and bolt on a bracket. Good luck!
