Hi LJers,
I inherited a Jet JML-1014 lathe on matching Jet stand a couple years ago. I was just getting back into woodworking then and didn’t know if I’d get into lathe turning. Now it looks like my interests lie more along straight lines rather than curves, and I’m running out of room for tools, so I want to sell or swap this lathe.

Since I have no chisels or turning skills, I haven’t tested the lathe beyond turning the motor on and observing that it spins smoothly and quietly. I don’t see any runout or play in the spindles so I think it’s in good mechanical shape, but there’s some worn paint and rust on the corners of the castings.

I’m 25 miles west of Portland, Oregon. I’m retired and have the time to drive a couple hours if necessary for delivery or pickup for a fellow LJer. As to swaps, I might be interested in some hardwood lumber, a biscuit joiner, a good random-orbit sander, planes, doweling and dovetail jigs, or who knows? Let me know what you have if you’re interested.

Or if you know someone who might want to buy it, I listed for $275 on Craigslist today at this link

Hey Mark, I am looking for a Lathe right now, maybe we can work something out!

I have a bunch of wood I could possibly trade. What type of hardwood are you interested in. I could trade you some Birch or maybe some Maple.

I live up in Renton just south east of Seattle. Maybe we could meet half way??

Send me a PM if you are interested.
