Topic tags/keywords: resource plane chisel

Just some of my handplanes in the shop. No L-V, or LNs here. There is also a small all metal spokeshave around, somewhere. As for the two wood bodied profile planes, they are shop made. There is also a 1/2” chisel plane made in the same style. All users.

Nice…that big ole transitional plane looks like a well seasoned warhorse! No LV or LNs here either…not that they’re not excellent planes, but my heart is with the crusty veterans.

Nice planes. They look like they will “do the job”.

I own 1 L-N that I bought used. I wanted to see why they are so highly praised. It is a very good plane, but is it that much better than the old warhorses? Not sure. I have the L-N, an old Bedrock and an old Bailey – all #4s. When I get the Bedrock and Bailey tuned up, I will try a head to head comparison and report my findings.
