I am planning to use a wood slab for my kitchen bench top. The slab has some cracks on both ends that will need repair. I want to oil the bench so what should I use to repair (fill) the cracks with?

If you are wanting to preserve the “rustic” appearance of the wood, I think your best bet is to encase the entire thing in clear table top epoxy, cracks and all. It would take a lot but I think anything less would not stabilize the wood.

Have your say...
