Topic tags/keywords: full extension drawer slides drawer slides

Full extension drawer slides are everywhere, but I know I’ve seen extensions that extend out past the full length of the slide. Does anyone know a) what they’re called and/or b) where to find them?

Thanks!

You can get “over travel” drawer slides. Google it.

There’s also this sort of thing:

One inch or 1-1/2 over travel is quite common in drawer slides. Do you have an idea how much over travel you are looking for, I don’t.

As stated, we dont know how much over travel you are looking for, but Rockler sells CenterLine drawer slides, the over travel ones extend an inch past full

Other useful information would be, what they will be use for, length, weight rating etc.

Thanks for the replies. They’re for drawers I’m going to be building into the base of my workbench, so I’m looking for over travel especially for the top couple of drawers to get them clear of the workbench top as much as possible when open. The length is short, maybe 12-16” slides, but I haven’t fully laid out the cabinet yet.

I don’t need massive weight ratings like the ones Loren posted, but I want something sturdy. They’ll contain chisels, hand planes, layout tools, sharpening supplies, et cetera.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Outwater Plastics has something that looks like a great fit. Too bad their over travel slides don’t have soft close.

Have your say...
