I’m going to look at a 24” Rockwell S63 planer later today and was wondering if anyone had one and had or has used one that had any opinions about it?

I never heard of this particular planer but I see they range up to 12hp. and 3 phase.
If you’re looking at some serious heavy duty planeing, this might be the machine especially if the price is right.
Then there is the weight thing. – it looks like it will weigh around 2500 lbs and that means lift truck and some serious manhandling.

Sorry I don’t have any info, just my lame opinions.

I’m guessing somewhere between 5 & 10hp, certainly 3ph, I can safely handle up to ~4K lbs. The big plus for me is it will easily last my kids life and beyond if taken care of.

My shop isn’t wired for it, but I can make it for one machine at a time.

Wow
That’s a lot of machine – now I’m looking forward to the first project
