Topic tags/keywords: wood jointer planer

Hi, first time posting and I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I was offered a jointer/planer combo unit for free. But I don’t know how good of a deal or unit it is. It’s old but looks to be a heavy duty tool. Any help would be great. Also the motor on it is a three phase so I was thinking of swapping it out for a single phase motor.

Hard to go wrong with free. That type of
machine is a well-proven design style and
very popular in Europe.

The handwheel looks Italian.

There are a lot of makes and models of 5
function combo machines. The mortiser on
the side is especially fun to use and it’s nice
to have a jointer that wide (looks like a 10”
to me).

Some of those machines have 3 motors. Most
have a sliding table attachment. Other than
the Italian handwheel it looks a lot like a
Robland x26.

At one time I found a European website where
owners of combination machines from different
countries and of different vintages showed off
their machines. The diversity was fascinating.

Have your say...
