Topic tags/keywords: dewalt 776 pp table saw

Does anyone have any experience or know about this saw? I see one for sale with a 52” cut capacity and sliding table at a reasonable price for a saw of its age and condition….if its a decent saw. Only a few reviews online make it sound like two different saws, yet I cannot tell the application or ability of the reviewers. I have been looking for a used left-tilt saw with the larger cut capacity and I think 1 3/4 hp will be ok from what I read. A table saw is the last tool I need for a very long time. Having not found one in several months I have been wrestling with the decision to go with a new Grizzly for the same reasons I have seen mentioned here by others and also whether to spend more for the SawStop contractor to ease my fear of injury….yes, I will be as careful as I know how with any saw. I expect to build some furniture and have to cut stock in a few months for a rocking chair….walnut I think….but will also do a lot of smaller work like boxes, etc. Dewalt no longer makes this saw….it doesn’t appear they have replaced it with another like it either….seems like they are just focusing on the purely portable and out of this sort of hybrid. To break it down, the Grizz I like would be almost $500 more and the SS $1,400 more…I can make myself do either, just trying to be more frugal if possible and not stupid in the long run. I did plan a 220 outlet in my shop for a TS….don’t think this one is convertible like the others. Thanks so much for any input about the Dewalt saw!!
