Topic tags/keywords: cedar rounded plugs cedar buttons question resource

I need to find some Cedar plugs that are rounded on the top. Looking for 1/2 inche to fill holes in a project I’m working on. Anyone know where I can buy these?

Not in Cedar.
Have you thought about making your own?
Cut slightly over 1/2” square strips 6” long or so and drive them through a homemade dowel plate then chuck them up in the drill press and round the ends with sandpaper.

Another option is to buy a plug cutter.

FYI – You need a drill press for these.

I second Rich on the plug cutter, I use mine all the time for pluging holes in different types of wood. you can leave them proud or rounded on top or sand flush.

Lee Valley also has tapered plug cutters that work well.

I have used them on site without a drill press.
