Has anyone used the Grizzly (model h7789) mortising attachment kit? I don’t have the space for a dedicated mortiser and some of the other kits cost nearly as much as a dedicated model.
Like all of us I’d like to save some cash but I don’t want to buy junk.

I once had the delta model so my comments will be limited to mortising attachments in general. Although it worked, it was far more hassle to set up than it was worth. The rings, fence and aligning process were a real chore. Also, my little bench top drill press was not designed to put this much force on a cutting tool. The handles are just too short and the pinion gear is not designed to take the force required to push the square bit through wood. I wound up giving it to a friend. I bought a delta morticer but If I didn’t have the room I would change my process to include a router rather than put up with the morticing attachment.
