Topic tags/keywords: bandsaw grizzly

I just bought this used bandsaw and am loving it. It replaced a Harbor Freight saw and it’s really nice to have a “real” machine instead of the Chinese one that I tried to soup-up.

I saw somewhere a picture of a storage rack that a guy build for his fence, but can’t find it anymore. Got me thinking about what other mods that guys have done to their machines to make them more functional. e.g. lights, tool/blade/fence storage. Would love to see what you’ve done and get your ideas.

I have that bandsaw I bought new a couple of years ago. I love mine, however it is the first, and only bandsaw I have ever had.
I haven’t really modified it except I built a resaw fence, and attached a cut off tooth brush to the bottom tire. Both work great, the brush keeps the tire clean, and there is never any sawdust buildup in the bottom compartment. The fence works great, but that is probably because I use quality blades and I set it up using the “Alex Snodgrass method”. If you dont know what that means, just google Alex Snodgrass bandsaw setup. Or he just did a segment on the Wood Whisperer web site you can easily find as well.

Add the riser block adds 6 inches. Ditto what EricLew wrote.
