discoloration on chuck jaws

I screwed up I la green cherry bowl in the jaws for a couple days when I removed the bowl I found some discoloration on chuck jaws , is that normal with green wood. Will it damage the jaws.

It should not be a problem for the jaws. Is it similar to the tannin stain (black) that you get if oak is left in the jaws? If so a little lemon juice should correct it if it bothers you.
