Hey folks… I am looking for a good and inexpensive resource for videos on learning to use a lathe… I have aquired an older Sears 12” lathe (given by a friend…) I have had a class but need some more help… Any ideas???

I just bought the Richard Raffan woodturning DVD a few weeks ago. It’s amazing! Really opened my eyes to the possibilities of using the skew. He removes an amazing volume of wood with the skew, with no drama. I was so inspired, I turned my next pen (last week) using the skew from start to finish – roughing to final cuts.

I heard the other day from a guy at the local Woodcraft that he doesn’t normally cut as fast as he did in this video, but I have to take that comment with a grain of salt. I’d definitely recommend the video.
