I’m ready to upgrade to a 3hp cabinet saw. Considering Grizzly G0690 or G1023RL. Can’t really see much a difference. Any opinions or advice? -- Rod -Cincinnati, Ohio |

Had the G1023RLW on back-order (May 2010 order got pushed to August 2010 before I switched to the G0690.) for months and finally had to order the G0690 because of constant postponement of delivery dates. Well my G0690 came in and I have never looked back. I love it! Is Grizzly finally delivering these things? FWIW, the G0690 design has many years of service behind it, whereas the G1023RL design is a new re-design that has been delayed several times already. You will need to decide if that is an acceptable risk to take, buying a new design. -- HorizontalMike -- "Woodpeckers understand..." |

I cant speak for the G1023RL but i own the G0690 and i think its a great saw at a decent price. I went thru a crapsman 21833 and 22116 and a delta 36-715 hybrid before getting the grizzly G0690. I asked the same question and recieved some good advice. -- Woodworkers theory of relativity - the quality of your scrap is relative to your skill level |

G1023RL guts: G0690 guts: Former G1023SL guts: The G0690 design looks to be a modification of the G1023SL design, with accommodation for a riving knife, whereas the G1023RL is a lot different…updated belt, blade shroud, updated fence, etc. Per Shiraz Balolia, president of Grizzly, the G0690 and Laguna Platinum are essentially the same saws from the same factory made with the same key parts. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |
