Topic tags/keywords: question lathe

Ok boys I need some advice.

I just bought a Jet JWL-1236 lathe from the wife of a fellow who has passed away. This is a good upgrade for me from the HF one I am using.

Problem: The speed control seems to be slipping and the speed will not increase. When I first turned it on it spun at high speed and I was able to slow it down. now it wont go back up. (again the lever feels like it is slipping)

Has anyone had a similar problem and what did you do to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

If you also got the manual call JET’s 800 number for customer service, they are WONDERFUL! I have called them a few times over the last few years and they always are very helpful and even have sent me replacement parts free of charge or shipping fees. Not saying they will send you free parts but they do seem to be genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction regarding their products.

Enjoy the new tool!
