I have a chatter tool with changeable tips. I’m not getting the results I’d like. Not sure if the lathe needs to be faster or slower? I have the tip sticking an inch out of the tool and the tool over the rest about 2 inches and slanting downward. The pic shows the results. Any advice is welcome.

This video may help some. Don’t own a chatter or texturing tool only put some chatter on very few projects and have been happy with results more by accident than skill.

Thanks. Looks like i need to sharpen the tool and let it stick out further.
