I’m trying to find the value in micro farads for the start capacitor in the Harbor Freight 1 hp dust collector motor. Does anyone know what micro farad value to order ?

I found the post by Why Me giving the capacitor micro farads as 400 uf. Went to Grainger Supply and bought a 400 uf start capacitor, installed it and now my dust collector works fine. Thanks Why Me!

Awesome, thanks for sharing that. Plenty of people (myself included)have that dust collector and someone else will eventually need that info.

OOPS! Now, I don’t believe the 400 uf start capacitor is the right value for the Harbor Freight 1 hp dust collector. After 15 minutes of operation the motor burnt up on my unit.

Maybe the start capacitor wasn’t the problem.
