I make diamond willow walking sticks. I make them and sell them finished, unfinished, and raw. Finished ones are ones that have everything done including four coats of polyurethane and a rubber tip. Unfinished ones are sanded with no polyurethane and no rubber tip. People usually buy the unfinished ones to wood burn or carve. Raw ones have nothing done to them. They come in various lengths up to five feet. You can specify what you want.

Prices are:

Finished $15 plus shipping
Unfinished $10 plus shipping
Raw $8 plus shipping

Here are some pictures of finished ones:

Firstly, I’d adjust your pricing so you can make a profit.

I suggest you start with:
Finished $60 plus shipping
Unfinished $50 plus shipping
Raw $20 plus shipping

I’ve done some work with diamond willow.

Many walking sticks are more for show than than function and the diamond willow can be showy. However, I wonder if it is strong enough to support a heavy person who needed his/her walking stick for support. From what I have seen, it is not a very strong wood.

Suggest diamond willow from Alaska for strength. It’s much more dense than most I have seen from the lower 48. I believe this is the case due to the weather extremes there.

Manitoba willow is also good and strong. I’m 250 and my cane and walking sticks haven’t failed me.
