Where are you seeing the 892 for $99? Looking online shows $189 -- George, Parker Colorado |

I was just curious about what the regular price for the 892 was and went to an on-line tool store (FAO). They’re on sale for $167 with free shipping. Now get this – - Beside the 892 they showed a replacement motor for the 890 series. It was on sale for $199. Who, in their right mind, would pay $199 for a replacement motor when they can get the whole router for $167? -- Rich, Cedar Rapids, IA - I'm a woodworker. I don't create beauty, I reveal it. |

Rich, when I bought a 7518 for my table, the bare motor was 50% higher than the fixed base router. Needless to say, I have a base for a big PC that is just scrap metal. -- Carpenter assembles with hands, Designer builds with brains, Artist creates with heart! |

Yes, I noticed that when I was buying my Bosch. I had considered buying an additional motor to go with the bases when the other would be in my router lift. I found that I should have bought the combo again as the price was more competitive. Now I wonder the logic behind that company decision? |

I saw the exact same two deals at HD in Raleigh, NC yesterday. It was only for the display models and both looked to be chewed up and spit out. They must be clearing out for some new models, or reducing their selection of decent tools even more. |

I got the last of the Ridgid R29302 Combos at my local HD first thing Monday morning. Was marked down to $129, with my military discount got it for $116 plus tax… -- Herb, Florida - Here's why I close most messages with "Be Careful!" http://lumberjocks.com/HerbC/blog/17090 |

Gorge the 892 is 199 on line but the store price has been reduced $99 there is still three on the shelf in on of the CA stores. But I also notice that the ridgid was still 199 on line as well so go figue. I will try to get pictures tomarow with Sku#’s. Renumber that HD will usually take Harbor Fright tool coupons (not printed ones) depending on who your talking to but it never hurts to ask. Or you could use Lowes coupons usually you can find these in storage locations because they are in the movers guide you get for changing your address when you move. Good luck LJ’s -- Juan, Fresno CA. |

Juan, After your post yesterday, I stopped by HD. Sure enough they had two left. One was a returned unit but the other was unopened. So I picked it up. Thanks for the tip. I am in the process of making a router table and this will be perfect for it. -- George, Parker Colorado |

! ! George thats good news. I plan on building a router table as well just haven’t been able to do it yet. Well LJ’s I ended up geting the PC and used the Harbor Fright coupon for 20% off. And they took it so i came out to 79.98 for the PC, I figured what the hell mite as well try to use the coupon what do I have to lose. The cashier didn’t even call a manager, I asked if HD took compettior coupons, she said they did and I gave her the HF one. Thank goodness for HF. -- Juan, Fresno CA. |

I bought the Ridgid last week when it was $156ish and used a HF coupon. Went back last night to see if they had the newly marked down price (they did) and asked them to price match on my receipt (they did). Ended up getting the router kit for $111 total. The North Fort Worth/Watauga store had 3 or 4 in stock still -- It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt. |

Juan, which Home Depot did you go to? I live in Fresno as well and when I tried to take my HF coupon and use it, they told me that they could only give me 10% off cause HF wasn’t really one of their competitors and that they only have 10% coupons so they wouldn’t do more than that. Still helped some but was a little disappointed. -- Matt - http://breakingboardom.wordpress.com/ |

Well Breaking I actualy got the router in Selma HD, I work in Selma and live in Fresno, I figured they had the same deal. Ya some managers still wont Honner the coupong even though “Corprate” says they should. And as for HF not being a competetor Bull they sell tools just like HD don’t they and if you can find it for less at HF you would buy it from there so thats a competetor. But it all depends on who you talk to, if you go to the same HD the next day and talk to someone else you proably could get it. Like I said the Cashier in Selma didn’t even call her manager she just gave it to me. You know what it was probably my good looks that got the extra 10% off :} -- Juan, Fresno CA. |
