I have been in the market for a new router. I have 2 Ryobi’s that are 1.25 hp and just aren’t up to the level that I hope my upcoming shop to soon be. I know I’m supposed to only buy a tool when I need it, but I couldn’t pass this one up: I’m about to set up my TS with an integral router table extension, and have therefor been searching craigslist like a madman for an american made porter cable 2+hp router. Then yesterday, I found a Rigid 2.25 hp kit at HD. Normally, $199, and now on clearance for $119. Couple that with a 10% off Lowes coupon, and I’m feeling pretty lucky this morning. I’m posting this, so that other LJ’ers can hopefully find the same deal. It’s a steal at $108, seeing that Amazon sells them for $261!

Hey thanks, Shimster. I ran out to my local HD and picked one up for $129. Substracting the gift card my wife gave me for Christmas made this almost free. I really like the heavy duty tool bag. Great for storing things in my truck.

You’re welcome Jeff. You are corriect. It was $129 now that I think about it. I’m glad you got it. The thing is a tank! Very nice fit & finish. About the only complaint I’ve heard about this model is that the dust collection could be better. We’ll see.
