Topic tags/keywords: hand plane hock blade brass infill

Hello friends, This is my first post after I have lurked for about a year ( I know I know its a long time, you can stone me later!) I have been in woodworking since 1996. I did however join the Army in 99 so my shop location to set up shop and work “The Wood” has been sparatic at times. Now to get to my point, I have been studying how to make infill plans and have read many articles and a couple books on the subject. I was wondering if anyone has brass stock that they would like to trade for hand tools or other tools I have in my shop ( I have just found out that I am going to be stationed in Germany again after I complete my Warrant Officer training). I am selling a lot of my shop off due to future space requirements. I am looking for 1/4 in stock if available or a quality hock blade as well. Sorry it has taken so long to get on board with you all, have a blessed day my friends.

I’ve picked up some brass stock at a salvage yard that buys scrap metals. You might get lucky there. The only 1/4 brass I have I plan to do the same with it.

Good luck on your searching, and construction.

I friend of mine just completed his plane. It looks great.

well friends I found a great place on the net that supplies brass and metal. Here is the link The cost of the brass for the sides and metal for the bottom only comes to 33.00. I am starting with a small hand plane that will be similar to one that was in shop notes. Here is that link I am going to make my own lever cap out of brass that I have at the house. I am also going to dovetail the sides unlike the one in shop notes. It should be fun.
