Plenty of Bosch tools at upto 60 percent. I get these emails all the time. Search Bosch and plenty come up at close to 60 percent. 1 percent falls into the upto catagory soits not shadey.

That item is offered by a 3rd party company. Besides that, the “list price” was never ever $355. Amazon likes to make up their own list prices on most tools.

I’ve seen items at “50% off savings” via Amazon that cost more than they do elsewhere when not on sale.

I’ve been watching the price of this item for the last year. $159 to 164 lowest pricing that I’ve seen. I saw it once for 151, went to order it NOT AVAILABLE… I was looking also at the Makita 4351FCT Barrel Grip Jig Saw with L.E.D. Light, when the price came down I jumped on it. I figured the Bosch would come down since I bought the Makita…

I’ve bought plenty of stuff from amazon for the past 13 years or so. What I did find out this year when I was watching items to buy for Christmas. The price will literaly change within the day and from day to day. I cought supernatural season 5 on blu-ray for like 25 bucks or so then the next day it went back up to 45 or something.

I let a Dewalt 14.4 xrt battery slip by, was at 41 bucks, then the next day it jumped to 60, but it was sold by a 3rd party. Anyway, it never went below 56 :(

Lost my previous comment. I use Amazon for as many purchases as possible. No tax and free shipping. I get emails similar to yours. Usually you need to follow the link and there are select tools at the advertised prices, not all Bosch tools. Also Amazon has inflated retail prices so 60% off isn’t necessarily 60% off of what you would pay at HD or Sears. Know what a good price is and buy when it’s a good deal based on your research. It’s the way marketing works for any company these days.

And once an item is replaced by a newer version (the jigsaw you referenced), Amazon will still offer the older version but at sometimes crazy prices. The replacement is more in line with the prices you quoted.

Their 60% emails are annoying, and plus sometimes their prices are higher than other competitors.

Shady is a good word!! I never believe anything I see on Amazon.com or Amzon.ca (Canada). I’ve checked a LOT of their stuff in the past and don’t even bother anymore.

There was a Link at the bottom of the page you linked to at Amazon for “Mississauga Hardware” in Canada (Why? I don’t know.) I’ve bought there before. So I followed it and found the Identical Model (1591EV5K). They sell it at FULL LIST for $199.00 CDN. As compared to Amazons 60% Off at $349.00

That’s the end of that story Folks!
