Unless you have an incra miter gauge. It always gives you a perfect angle right? Sure.
I cut stiles and rails for 8 highly figured mitered raised panel doors. Which I spend a day at the router to make. When trying to put it all together the angles appeared to be not exactly 45 degrees! How could ot happen?
The stupid thing fell from the table saw a few days before. Any tool should withstand that. But Incra apparently is made from pot metal and was practically destroyed by that.
Not only some teeth were lost, the thingy that locks in the teeth was bent too. All from an easy fall.
I did not notice in time and now hove to correct the issue somehow.
To the praise of Incra however they are sending me the teplacement parts under warranty.

I just bought the 1000HD. I was tempted to get the SE because it had bigger detents. In the end I couldn’t bring myself to pay more for the “lesser” version. I can see where dropping it would be likely to mess up the teeth and pointer, as small as they are. Kudos to incra for sending you parts. They didn’t have to do that. Thanks for posting….your experience will make me be very careful.

I too cannot believe they are sending you replacement warranty parts after you dropped it and broke it. Surely you must have left out the part about dropping it when you called…

So what’s a “hard fall”, a two story drop on to concrete?

Incra miter gauges are inanimate objects. I think your assessment of who or what is stupid is misplaced.

Yeah I’m gonna have to agree.

And GM owes me another tail light because it wasn’t strong enough to withstand a tree branch.
