How many here use a logo for their websites or business cards or whatever. If so how did you get it? Did you do it yourself or have a professional do it Did you use a service?? I am looking to get a logo made for use on my web site as well as business cards and possibly shirts and things. I am a woodworker of all sorts but my main interests are pen turning, scrollsawing clocks, and other flat work. I use all tools. So I am looking for something that will incorporate these hobby and also the name of my business which is JT’S Creative Woodworking Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Thanks

Years ago I used to own a music recording business. I found the general idea for a logo in a childrens coloring book. I changed it myself enough that it wouldnt violate any copyrights, but looking through books helped me get ideas and establish the type of logo I wanted. Once you have establlished it though, you will need to register the tradmark so someone else doesnt start using it or take it away from you. We always had people trying to use our logo.

Wayne has the right idea. If you don’t have something in mind, just start looking to see if you can find something you like. Then you can combine the different logos to create your own. If you don’t have much graphic design experience and you want a great looking logo, hire someone to do it for you. Shop around, you may be able to get it cheaper than you think. Good luck.

I think the thing that you said it yourself. I am a woodworker and the name of my business is JT’s Creative Woodworking. (CREATIVE) so be creative. I owned a printing company and we were asked many times How do we come up with a LOGO?. What do you do? Who are your customer’s? What type of customer’s do you sell to? Are they professionals?, Doctor’s, John Doe average citizen’s, Farmer’s or who. Generalize them and spend your advertising budget accordinle. If you only sell to professionals give them high gloss business cards or 4 color process printing. However digital printing is now the way to go. Go to the yellow pages and search the listings and pick several and take the best of the bunch and create your own from there. Also you can cut, copy, and paste from the add’s then lay them out and print from there. keep in mind people read from left to right top to bottom so Top Left have something that catche’s there eye but nothing that isn’t related to what you do. Like a nice wooden pen. Now if that’s what there looking for or they like wood now they will read farther again Top to bottom Left to right. Hope that might help.

‘JT’ as hands on a clock ‘Woodworking’ as the clock’s circular frame?
