as I scrolled to the bottom of a zillion comments for the umpteenth time, I thought “hmm wouldn’t it be nice if the most recent postings were at the top instead of the bottom?” -- ~ Debbie, Canada (http://www.execulink.com/~yohan) |

I use the X new link at the right of the Lumber jack pulse to get to the new ones. It take you directly there. I think there may be a similar link at the top of the blog pages too. -- We must guard our enthusiasm as we would our life - James Krenov |

MsDebbieP, I agree with you, I would like it if the new comments were at the top. -- There are three types of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't! |

Thanks for the idea, Debbie. It may seem like a better approach at the first glance but it can get really tricky. We’re reading top to bottom.. and imagine having as low as 3 new comments on some blog.. after reading one of the new ones (and often we have quite long comments) you’d need to scroll back up to find that next comment instead of just continue reading as in the current approach. As Wayne said there is always new link that should send you directly to the first new comment. I will also consider adding Add new comment link that will bring you directly to new comment form. And if you want to go to the bottom of the page you can always use Ctrl + End and then just Page Up to find the comments you want to read. Hope this clarifies the point ;) -- Martin, http://lumberjocks.com | My Facebook: http://profile.to/msojka |

good point Debbie, but good counterpoint Martin… sounds good. I guess I need to give Firefox some equal opportunity… -- I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it. - Van Gogh -- http://blanchardcreative.etsy.com -- http://snbcreative.wordpress.com/ |
