I am trying to make some camping furniture that will lay flat for storage in the offseason and be easier to carry up and down stairs.
I am basically looking for a design principle, not really a specific design. I suspect hinges, sliding panels, self-locking panels, hasps, sliding bolts or any combination of principles to keep the furniture locked in place and stable once unfolded.
Think: a wood version of a folding crate, but using the same principles to build all sorts of frames and boxes.
I can't find pictures of examples so I thought I would post here. I know I have seen fold-flat DIY boxes somewhere.
