Topic tags/keywords: grizzly g0513 band saw bandsaw

Hello all!

I just found a Grizzly G0513 17” Bandsaw for sale on Craigslist for $200

https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/tls/d/commercial-bandsaw/6226020262.html

Only thing is, he said it got tipped over and the only thing that he thinks is wrong is the table got unaligned. Everything else seems to be running fine. If I get there, and nothing appears to be actually broken, should I jump on this? I’m meeting him in two days and I’m reserved as first in line so I don’t have to worry about someone swiping it.

If something does appear broken, would it still be worth it to purchase and fix up? Does Grizzly have good enough customer service to send a replacement part?

Thank you all!

My general bet would be, killer deal. Of course, if it’s cast, you get to bend it only once.

Shoot for that price just make a new table yourself, it doesn’t need to be cast iron.

Grizzly is good about stocking replacement parts, especially for popular models like this one.

And, at that price it will probably be gone in the time it took you to post here and ask the question lol.

Unless the frame is bent, go for it!

I’m thinking that rule #1 might be more appropriate…

If the table is tweaked a trunnion may
be broken. They can be welded by a shop
that welds cast iron or perhaps replaced
by the manufacturer.

Repaired trunnions aren’t that uncommon
on older bandsaws due to the top-heavy
nature of them and the tables sticking
out.

The picture and description are pretty sketchy. Hopefully it’s a well functioning machine still though.

I would pay 200$ for no table and trunnions casting for a 17” saw.

I would jump on it, even if you have to stick money into it, unless the motor is junk.
