Hi, I picked up a craftsman 2h.p., variable speed, soft start router for what I thought was a good deal.($35.00) I used it a few times and then it sputtered and does not get up to full power. It runs but I haven’t even tried to used it. Not being a good hand with motors, I thoughts I would come here for some help. My one buddy said maybe the brushes, so I ordered them and should have the tomorrow. If anyone has any suggestions besides getting rid of it, I would appreciate. Thanks a lot

Router brushes last a long time so if
the router doesn’t look worn from use
I would bet it’s something else. Change
the brushes anyway, and turn the speed
up all the way. It’s possible the variable
speed isn’t working properly.
