I just called Home Depot to see why my order for the Work Sharp was cancelled. I talked with both Customer Service (the number on my email) and Credit. Seems the nice man at Customer Service said that my order was cancelled because my shipping address and credit card billing address didn’t match. We went over my shipping address and that was correct.
If you are still interested in this… CALL!!!
I’ll be interested in seeing what other excuses they come up with for cancelling the orders. We can’t all have discrepancies in shipping and billing!!

That has to be really disappointing! Honestly, you think that someone would have just made something up so they didn’t have so many orders to fill! Did they offer you any compensation? Just wondering. . . .

I just checked my e-mail and have not gotten anything from them about my order. I will be surprised if they do ship. It will help raise my opinion about HD as it has been going down fast for the past few years.

They said my order was canceled because the item is listed as out of stock. I gave the representative my email and she said that I will get an email when it’s back in stock. I asked if I will have to purchase it at a new price and she said that I would be able to purchase it for the original $62.25. I don’t have the highest amount of confidence in that happening.

When I called the customer service rep told me my order was cancelled because something???? was not done within 48 hours so my order was automatically cancelled! I never could get what that “something” was out of her so I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said it was cancelled because the item was out of stock. I told her I knew that and wanted to leave the order and just ship when it came in. She said she couldn’t do that because it could be 4-6 weeks before they received a shipment and they couldn’t leave the order in the system that long. She said she made a note on my order and would call me when they came in. I asked if I would get the sale price and she said yes!
We’ll see!!!!

FYI: I just looked at the Work Sharp web site and they don’t list HD as a dealer!

Same result as the last couple of responses. “Item went out of stock after my order was placed.” They don’t know when or if they will get any more. If the item returns to stock, I supposedly can reorder at this price if I reference the note that was placed on my original order. I asked for an email stating this policy and was told that was not possible, but I could call back later and verify that a note was placed on the original order. Makes me suspect they won’t be stocking the item any longer.

About … 0… price was actually supposed to be $162.50 like someone on another post said.. they messed up and are back paddling…

Just called and she assured me that the products will be sent… very nice person. I’m going to get a Drill Doctor first chance I get… Me thinks it was Work Sharp that prodded them to relent… but who knows. Sometimes I guess it pays to bitch…
