I notice on my last project that my router was starting to act up. It would start to stall out randonmly even when I wasn’t making a cut. Sometimes I’d turn the switch on and nothing would happen until I smacked the bottom of it. I checked the brushes on the motor and they were fine. I’m thinking something with the soft start mechanism might be broken? Any advise is greatly appreciated! The router is only a few years old and I haven’t used it much. I have another one of the same model and haven’t had any issues with it. Here is a video of it in its current state:

Check the power cord. Blow it out with air. Clean the switch. Try all the easy things first.

While you’re doing the easy stuff mentioned, see if you can check the brushes too.

Well I feel stupid. I took it apart tonight and one of the switch wires came off its terminal post. She runs great now. Thanks everyone.

Glad to hear it was something easy to fix.
Nice work!
