First of all, Martin I’d like to thank you for this amazing site. I’ve learned a ton about woodworking since I’ve been a member and fund inspiration to be around every corner here.

I was thinking of a feature that might be fun to add to the site- The LJ World Map. I thought it might be neat to see where Lumberjocks are found. I thought of this because I never seem to find people near my home of North Dakota. I get jealous when other jocks talk about going to local shows and get-togethers and starting wondering if there were any Jocks in my neck of the woods. It can be an optional feature in your profile to add yourself to the map. People can see the map and communicate with others near them or just look at it for fun.

Thanks again for this great site and happy Holidays.

Unfortunately the shop map only shows 1850 LJ’s in the US. Out of 22,639 Lumberjocks worldwide this is a small percentage. Many LJ’s don’t post their shop and if they do they may not put in their location. If you want to be found, post your shop or just the location.
I agree with LocalMac that there should be some type of search on locations, either if their posted on the home page or in the workshop page. If someone wants to remain discreet they can choose not to put their location.
I had a fellow local Lumberjock find me because of my tag line and workshop location.

Gary that is because most don’t put thier States and Country, Provinces and Country.
Also if you try a search for a State, Province, Country, name you can find someone too
