Today is my Dad’s birthday. He is 84 and is in a home withe dementia. Through his life he gave me gifts of knowledge and common sense. He was gifted with a brilliant mechanical mind.

I watched him build garages, houses and many more woodworking projects. My favorite was when he made a 1 car garage into a 2 car by cutting end off putting it on pipes and rolling it to widths and filling in the middle.

Dad Happy Birthday!!! Happy Birthday to all of our Dad’s

Those old timers seem to have a “Can do” attitude and accomplished some great feats due to that and their willingness to work hard. I always hated working with my dad cause it was tough. Now that I’m a little older I find joy and accomplishment it.
I still have a great father. Only thing that comes close is a great mom. I hope I can be as good a parent to my kids as I had

Jim, that sounds cool they way your dad extended the garage. I was real little when my dad jacked up the garage and and turned it 90 degrees on pipes. Then he put in a cement floor and a door on the gable end. That old cement mixer was going all day long and the floor still had no cracks after 60 years. It is amazing what some of our dad’s did!! We never had a car up until that time he put the door in the garage!!

cheers, Jim
