Topic tags/keywords: question padauk

I need some help identifying the following wood.

I bought some cedar recently and the gentleman also has some of this, but he wasn’t quite sure what it is. He seemed to recall that it might be padauk, but I think it would need to be darker and more reddish-orange to be padauk.

Any ideas? Thanks!

That does not look like any Padauk I have ever seen. It looks like poplar. However, poplar is relatively light (lighter than oak). If this is a heavy board then it is not poplar.
