Topic tags/keywords: dalbergia wood lumber identification rosewood indian brazillian

Hi people, Im in Australia and, although i do tend to enjoy wood products and features at home, i definitely do not classify myself as an expert in timber identification. I have come across a few pieces ranging in size that i from research up to this point have led me to believe that it is from the family of Dalbergia. Im 99% sure of this. However, Im not sure on which individual type. I have been told that it is East Indian Rosewood, which through research i believe is Dalbergia Latifolia, But i have been forced to consider that it may be Brazillian rosewood, Which again i believe to be Dalbergia Nigra. If anyone could give me some confirmation on this or anything in the way of identifying these trees, it would be most appreciated. Due to the availability of this product, it is very difficult to find much free floating information in Australia as the industry is mostly focused in domestic hardwoods such as Jarrah and the Eucalypts.I have posted a couple of pics and am happy to show a few more to anyone who can give me a bit of information.
Im sorry, but due to international law, i am unable to discuss a transaction with anybody living outside of Australia, and even then that does not include WA or TAS due to quarantine laws. Thanks for your time.

Looks like some great wood for bowls and such.Since you in Australia I would call it Australian rosewood.
