I love these. Fantastic design! Did you broach a square hole in the turning blank so you could insert the square glue up? If so, how? Super deep mortise chisel?

it starts with 9 pieces 1/2×1/2 and then encased with the dark outside. The key is to make sure you have it dead center when you put it on the lathe
