Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw

Hello everyone,

This is my first post to the forum altough I frequent here often to answer questions I may have along the way. I’m just getting into woodworking as a hobbyist and I’m looking to start purchasing some tools. I stumbled upon this contractors saw on Craigslist, and I wanted to know what you all thought. Is it a good deal?

https://bend.craigslist.org/tls/6178651599.html

Thank you all for any advice or info you may have about the saw.

I would so be jumping on that thing. The newer version at Lowes is $599 and the new is not the same quality as the old.

Nice deal on a very good saw. That’d be a great first saw that could be your last saw too! It’ll probably go pretty fast.

My exact first saw, except that I had the biesemeyer fence . Served me very well. Ditto to the rest. Jump on it.

It’s a decent saw that becomes a very good deal because of the extras (PALS, dust bag, mobile base). I’d jump on it at that price.

Far better than any plastic bodied new saw you could get for the same money.
I worked with a 90s era Delta contractor saw for a while. It was a nice saw. I’d expect this one to be good too.

Have you called yet?

Wow thank you all so much for the responses! I don’t think Ive ever seen so many people agree on something on this forum. Well after googling what OWWM rule number 5 was (I know I know) I jumped on it. Gave him a call and we’re meeting Friday. To top it off we settled on the price of 250 and he’s going to throw in some extra blades.

If only my woodworking skills were as good as my negotiating/deal finding skills…

Thanks again everyone!

Only thing you’ll need to add is a miter gauge. A very good Incra or Kreg one will run you $130 or so, or there’s a cheaper Incra for ~$70 or so I think.

Wow, what a great find. Way to go. I have the new version 36-725, which I love, but I would have jumped on this one too, (if I had room for two) :-)
