Topic tags/keywords: lumberjocks woodworking channel community

I heard about this site (here's the link) on Wood Talk Online, and after checking it the past few days, they’ve finally relaunched it. There are a good number of videos you can watch on demand, including several with Sam Maloof.

It looks like they want to also have a community feature to the site. They say,

“Some of our new features will include: blogs, workshops, projects, calendar of events, member’s videos, etc. Membership and all of our features are free. Create a profile and upload video of your workshop, write a blog, connect with others like yourself, post pictures of your creations… the possibilities are limitless. Network within the Woodworking community like you haven’t before.”

My first thought was, “What do you mean, ’like you haven’t before’? Have they not heard of LumberJocks?” I emailed them (they’re soliciting suggestions) pleading with them not to try to reinvent the wheel. Keep the video, ditch the community site. Just my opinion. I’m happy here.

It seems the Woodworking Channel is back online. I wonder who is backing them now? I like that you can select the show you want to see, rather than their broadcasting schedule they used to have. Right now, it looks like they do not have as many programs as they used to.

By the way, they have several interviews with Sam Maloof for those interested.
