I am now the owner of a one month old Jet JET 629004K 16-32 Plus 16-Inch Open Stand Drum Sander! I found this locally on Craigslist and bought it and 7 rolls of sandpaper for $200! This is $1000+ new. I think that was a deal/steal.

Dying to know why they would give up a 1 month old $1,000.00 piece of equipment for 1/5 of what they paid for it…

Oh, where’s the pics?

I got this sander cleaned and set up then added casters to make it mobile. I ran some recycled eastern cedar through it and it seemed to work just fine.

I too wondered it if was “hot” but was relieved when I went to look at it. The seller was making and selling bunk beds but was getting out of the business and needed the money. It was at his shop and he had been actively using (w/o a dust collector). I kind of scoped out his shop while there at this point have no reason to believe it wasn’t a legitimate deal.

I did view a few videos on Youtube and leaned a few do’s and don’t’s. If any of you have any helpful hints or web links to help me learn more, I would be happy to hear about them.

Great deal. Sorry that he was going out of business, though.

Using it without a dust collector? Can’t imagine the mess that makes!
