Have acquired a WEN 10” band saw with the 6” work height yet only a 1/3 h.p. motor. Has anyone out there with this saw successfully been able to resaw the max height? Would like to use it to cut green limbs into thin pieces without having to get a heavier saw ($$$). Or has anyone put a heavier motor on theirs? What about the band saw blades for cutting green wood?

Appreciate any feedback, Daddydave

That is a pretty light weight/HP saw for 6” resawing. A 3/8” 3 TPI blade might work, but ya gotta go slowly.

I wouldn’t even try it, especially on green wood.

I suggest riving (splitting) those branches into strips while they are green.

I have a old 3 wheel Craftsman that is about same power. Great for quick cuts and some shaping but the heavier stuff I use the floor model with a good 1/2 blade. If you go very slow, say Glacial Speed you might get what you are after. Look around on CL, alot of bargain floor models can be had for much less than brand new.
