I’m a rookie so I’m not sure what type of wood usually goes on cabinets, but I wanted to get a supply cabinet in the basement up for some cleaners, cans & things of that nature. For that purpose I saw this piece of birch that I really liked so I decided I was gonna use it as the cabinet door. Still in the works but I wanted to get some opinions on the wood itself.

Thoughts?

What does it need, should I add anything to it?

Very nice. Will be fine as a shop cabinet door but would work well in a finer furnature piece as well.

Good Luck!

Oh thatnks! I still have about a 3’x2’ piece of it left over, trying to figure out what to do with it.

you’re the one who has to like it and live with it. It’s your decision.

Yea, I know what you mean, I’d like to find something to build with a large surface area to really show it off. I think a workbench organizer would be cool, but just wouldn’t really show very much of the wood so figured I’d be open to suggestions.

Heck I might just hang it on the wall and call it a day!

When I have a piece of wood that I like but don’t know what I want to use it for I put it aside. The day will come when the right project will come along for that piece of wood and you know that’s were it goes.

Yea, that’s a good idea, instead of being impatient like I usually am, ha!
