Topic tags/keywords: ridgid jointer

I see lots of reviews for this piece from a year to (as recent as) 6 months ago. Everyone is posting that back then the price was around $300 at HD, yet, today its listed at $429. Could the price have gone up? Am I missing something? Thanks.

Yes. You must have missed the price increase.

HD had a recent sale on it but it didn’t last to long if I remember correctly. They often put larger machinery on sale or clearance so check often. That’s how I got my table saw for so cheap.

I did not get the lowest deal on that jointer, mine was $379.

Still I when I went to get it I was willing to pay the $429 after looking at the cost of several other name brands. Speaking of which, those name brands were on sale this week at some of the woodworking stores, so they may price closer to the Ridgid one.

With the return policy and warranty, not to mention that it is a really nice jointer to start with, it’s hard to go wrong unless you want a 8” jointer.

Prices can vary a bit by region and store, but $349-$429 was the old “regular” price (depending on year, store, etc). $300 had to have been a sale price…I’d even read of some being clearanced in the $200 range in recent months.

I picked mine up when HD had it on sale for $299 a month ago, I think the sale only lasted for a day or two. After using it for a month now I wouldn’t have been upset if I had paid full price. The unit just works, assembly, and setup was pretty easy and it’s a lot quieter than I thought it would be. If you don’t “need” it right now, I would suggest just checking the HD website periodically to see if you can catch it on sale.

Thanks for the input guys. I will keep checking.

Cato- I do want an 8”, but everytime i check reviews, this one keeps coming up. It seems lots of people have been fans of this model.

I would love to have an 8” jointer, just make sure you have the room for one of those beasts they are HUGE compared to a 6”.
