Topic tags/keywords: tablesaw blade

Hi,

i recently bought a makita 2704 table saw. i love the machine the quality build is good its rigid.

my only issue with it as you can see from the attached photos when i remove the Auxiliary fence plate that came with the saw. the fence is parallel with the blade but the table saw tape shows negative ’’-0 ’’ and another photo when i align the fence to the zero in tape. the fence is no longer touching the blade there is a gap of approximate 3 CM .

when the Auxiliary fence plate attached to the fence the tape read correct and the fence is touching the blade

can some on input on this please.

thanks.

With the aux fence in place you have zero. The saw is set for use with the aux fence. If you want to use the fence without the aux fence slide the fence to the blade loosen the two screws for the curser and adjust to zero. Now it is setup for using the fence without the aux fence. The difference in your reading is the thickness of the aux fence.

If you were crosscutting using your miter gauge and you wanted a length of 3 inches you would put a block of 3/4” as your stop. Set the fence to 3 3/4 to get a 3” piece and not pinch once thru the blade.

Does that make sense.?
