The Iron Cross design allows for some nice work to be done, possibly doing some nice router work on the edges and some nice inlay within.

Also, a cross with in a cross design, overlaying one smaller cross to a larger cross, maybe with contrast in wood or in stain color.

I have seen some made where the ends look similar to a clover, with 3 rounded edges. A nice router detail and some carvings inside, or even scroll work.

Just a couple of thoughts for you. Hope it helps.

Every time I visit Mercy Hospital in my town I am impressed by their cross/logo. It’s a cross in a cross and, with respect to each of the 2 crosses, the ends of each “arm” are cut at a slight angle and the corners are nicely rounded.

I could not find a good picture but you can see a small picture of this design in the upper left hand corner here – -

I’ve always admired this design and I’ve always said that I would like to replicate it if I could.

Thanks for the ideas. I had decided on the cross on a cross but then I saw the one Sgt
Snafu designed for his neighbors on the “role the dice” feature and will go with that.
