Just curious – What kinds of items are you making as Christmas gifts this year?

I’m doing some rolling pins, cheese boards, a bible box, bird feeder and the big item is a rocking horse.

I’m still trying to think of the just right items for a niece and nephew ages 12 and 7.

Turned several potpourri bowls with the pewter lids for BOSS, sisters, neices and friends. Also turned 4 sets of holders for confetti lamps for my sisters & neices. Plan to post pics when I get them taken.

grizzman – I used the phrase “rocking horse” as a generic description of something that holds a child and rocks. The actual design will be a rocking airplane like I saw in the projects section recently.

The father of the recipient is a real “airplane guy” who has a degree in aeronautical engineering. I will be inspired by the work our fellow LJ did but I will freely modify the design and “do my own thing”. You can be certain that it will no be painted pink.

Ratcheting candlestands for most. I am also building a spool cabinet for my girl friends sewing room. Should have the construction complete by mid next week and then on to the finish work.

The only gift born in my shop this year will be the guitar I made for my oldest son back in August. I’m working on a tube amp for the guitar, but I have no intention of finishing in time for Christmas.

Working on a few things this year: a tongue drum, a swan wine basket, dresser boxes for the girls, pencil boxes, secret boxes, band saw boxes, puzzle boxes, and a handful of scroll saw projects, just lots of little things

Not so much for someone else, but someone told me they might be getting me a Black Powder Pistol kit for the holiday… so in turn, i think I am going to build them a gun cabinet/display….if I can muster the courage.. As it seems daunting…
