Topic tags/keywords: bar pub

After many years we are finally getting around to finishing out our basement into an entertainment area.

Of course we want to include a nice bar area so I’m looking for ideas and examples. I remember a couple of years ago (or more) someone posted a great series of photos that went from the rough framing of the bar, all the way through the finished project. If anyone can remember that project, or has something similar you can post or refer to, I would really like to see it.

Have you tried searching the Projects pages? If you can remember any additional details, like “wet bar” or “walnut bar”, that will help limit results.

Thanks. I did try earlier but got no results, an error, or too many results, depending on the search terms. I’ve not used quotes in the search engine so I will give that a try.

I’d say be creative and list all the things you want into it and do your own design to match what you need. The first thing is planning where it will be and the space will limit the size. Think about plumbing and electrical that will be needed and lighting. A refrigerator and sink are great in a bar. If you have kids, a locking liquor storage might be needed

If you start with a blank sheet of paper, the sky is the limit!!

Cheers,Jim

A Google search will net you tons of ideas, and Pinterest will give you a lot more than just a pic or two. A lot of times it will give you the project from start to finish.

The AVS forum is for audio/video stuff but they have a section on building home theater rooms. Many of those builds include bars with construction photos, etc. Might be able to get some info on that site.

Thanks. I’ll give Pinterest and the AVI forums a look see.
