I will be receiving it on Thursday and have a couple of questions.

I will not be installing the stock fence since I ordered a Vega Pro 40 for my Ridgid r4512 but decided I wanted (and was given permission) to upgrade. I will also be installing the cast iron router extension I had on my Ridgid.

Does anyone see an issue with the above plans? I plan on installing the router extension to the table. Do you think it is possible to add the stock wing to it? Or should I just build a wood extension?

Does anyone have any tips for assembly?

If anyone is interested in the newer fence system for the non “Z” just message me. I do not plan on opening it.

There should be no reason you can’t add the stock extension and your router table….that’s exactly what I did with my Shop Fox saw. Should be no problem with the fence either.

Received the saw today. Waiting for help tomorrow to get it in my basement. I took both wings out of the box and was curious why one felt heavier than the other. I weighed them and one is 35.6lbs and the other is 31.1lbs.

Sorry for the delay but I finally have my saw put together and setup. Here is a picture.

And here is how I mounted the power switch since I used the Vega instead of the stock system.
Only complaint is the dust collection. I sealed the inside but I think there should be some kind of cover for the slot the wheel travels when beveling.

I’ve got one of these and absolutely LOVE it. I swapped out stock the fence for an Incra and its even better. It never occurred to me to seal the stand for better dust extraction. I will be looking into this later today. I also have a grizzly bandsaw and an G0490x jointer. Could not be happier with my Grizzly stuff. Unless the machinery that you got was defective when you got it, I suspect user error could be an issue with those not happy with grizzly….

I love the Vega but can not compare it to the stock one since I never installed it. I had the Ridgid before and it had a similar fence to the grizzly stock one but the vega is accurate every time.

Here’s mine. The saw table is all cast iron. The router extension is from Peachtree. I used the Peachtree product because it has a larger opening which fit the table insert plates I already had.

Which Shop Fox saw is this Grizzly the equivalent to? I’m not wrong that these two manufacturers use the same base saws, right? I really like the W1819, but the reviews and amazon feedback I have found don’t give a lot of info in that regard.

Just curious because I also know I will want to add a router extension and wonder if the above comments apply.

AFAIK, the W1819 is pretty much the same saw as the Griz G0690 under the hood. It looks like the SF W1837 has the same guts as the G0771, and the W1824 is the same as the G0715P.
