Just wondering what LJ’ers thought of this drum sander. It seems like a pretty good deal, but is a bit small perhaps.

It’s a steal, even thought it’s small I would still take it for small parts sanding.

Depends on what you want to do with it. I have the open ended 16” drum sander and love it. It’ll do 32” wide.

I would not buy it. It may be a good deal, if you need a twelve inch sander. If you buy it and it’s the only sander you have you will be lusting after a larger one, or an open ended one in very little time.

I paid $600 for mine and I use it a lot. It uses a LOT of current. I have it on a 30 amp circut

I went ahead and purchased the sander so I will provide a review after I have a chance to use it. Thanks for all the feedback!

I have been able to use the sander a good bit over the last month. I have to say I am pretty happy with it. It definitely requires a 20 amp circuit, but as long as you don’t try to push it too hard it does a very nice job. Huge improvement over my planer with figured woods. It would be nice if it was larger, but it does what I wanted it to do (for now!).

Have your say...
