I have been a member for over two years and maybe I am off base a little here, and I mean no offense to anyone, but many of the posts on this forum look a lot like what would have been on the Coffee Lounge. I never spent much time on that forum because there is a lot going on within this community and if you only have so much time you probably don’t frequent all the forums. Well that is at least true for me. But I am also seeing some other posts in different forums that would also belong in the lounge. Again, I am not saying there was anything wrong with the post, just the location. So please no offense again. If someone is new then it may be a bit confusing when they see some of the posts in a given forum. If topics that really don’t apply to a particular forum are showing up all over the place then it defeats the purpose of trying to keep these topics seperated by general subject. I really don’t know the details around the lounge closing but maybe it is still needed. Just my opinion and if this is considered offensive please remove the thread. -- Ron, Kutztown, PA "The reward is in the journey." |

I’ve been here for over 2 years as well and find it funny that the coffee lounge is closed, especially when there is no way to prevent off topic posts from being posted. I personally never go to a specific forum. I only look at new posts, and never pay attention to where they were posted. So the whole thing is a coffee lounge to me. Just a bunch of buds talking about woodworking and this and that. -- ~ Inspiring those who inspire me ~ |

ha…funny post kolwdwrkr…....for any who don’t know why it was closed go to martins page and look at the blog he posted on the subject…...it explains it there pretty well…and if you have any concerns send him a pm…that is what he has requested…just trying to point the way for an explanation….grizzman -- GRIZZMAN ...['''''] |

Well I think we still have the coffee lounge but at a different location, I think that with the new rules Martin may someday reopen the coffee lounge because the same discussions have just moved somewhere else. |

Closing the coffee lounge is like closing the bank because of bank robbers. People can still post sexy pictures. |

I personally am disappointed the coffee lounge is closed. I enjoy the coffee lounge because it gave a place to discuss off woodworking topics with people of at least some similarity. Meaning, our members have vastly different opinions and political leanings but in the end we still have the woodworking in common. -- "Man's ingenuity has outrun his intelligence" (Joseph Wood Krutch) |

After reading Martin’s reasons for the closure I must say good job. One lesson I learned early in life was, stick to the basics! The primary reason I have stayed on this site it the supportive community focused on woodworking. I hope it stays this way! -- "Man's ingenuity has outrun his intelligence" (Joseph Wood Krutch) |

mvflaim: I take great offense at your posting a photo of those two fine gentlemen and treating them like they were meat at the butcher shop! :-) Keith: I’m glad to see someone else reads forum posts the same way I do…. without looking at which category they were posted to. -- Charlie M. Charlie, Keith, it is the same for me. I look at new posts regardless. Did not know there was a difference until I had to choose to post… Just a bunch of buds talking about woodworking and this and that. bentlyj…......... damn you’re good. I’d never slowed my brain down enough to read things like that. As far as shooting the bull…....you’ll have to find another place to do it folks. That’s what I see, anyway. |

I just read off the “Pulse” page, so whatever was posted recently shows up-blogs, forums, projects…it all looks the same to me -- A woman's work is never done-but power tools help! |
