i have an older sears lowish quality 3 1/2” bench vise that has only one locking screw with handle for rotation of the base plate (180 degrees rotation). without there being two (one on each side of the vise) there is no way to keep this thing from rocking or rotating slightly when tightened down? seems like a bad design, looks like i will have to live with it…any fixes?

thanks

You could order the replacement parts from Sears and drill and install them on the other side.
